nader r asked: Okay so say I have a business idea and I tell the VC and they give me ALL OR SOME OF THE MONEY to start the business and I STILL GET A LOT OF EQUITY IN IT. WHY wouldn’t the venture capital fund just use that money since they have to pay most or all to open it themselves and then they would own it all think about it same amount of money with 100% equity why?

marlanazakon asked: I am thinking about investing in a particular company that is supposedly in its IPO stage. I was told that the company has no venture capital and that the CEO (who is a billionaire) has invested his own money into the company. How do I find out if the company is actually in its underwriting stage to ensure that it is going public?

Carson W asked: I plan to go to UVA and get a degree. What degree should I get for venture capital? (economics, undergrad business, or finance?) I think one of my strongest suits is my international capability. I know English, French, and Chinese fluently, and have passable Spanish, Arabic, and Hindi. Where could I get an entry level job, how much will it pay, how fast does it promote, and what is the possibility I could actually get one? Thanks for any help.
