Are the RESUMES of Hillary and Obama a JOKE?
(Please don’t make this question about Bush – Just Answer the question)
The 2008 presidential race is off and running. It is popular to bemoan the lack of qualified candidates in the race. I wholeheartedly disagree. Many of the candidates have much valued experience in business, military and government. In 1984, Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful venture capital and investment companies. Bain Capital helped launch hundreds of companies on a successful course, including Staples and Domino’s Pizza. Like Rudy Giuliani who was mayor of New York City, Romney also has executive experience as Governor of Massachusetts. John McCain was an officer in the military and is the senior senator from Arizona serving since 1987. All three of the declared republican front runners have very thick resumes as you should when applying for the most powerful executive position known to man.
Imagine if the republican front runner was a new member of congress with no military, business or executive experience. People would rightly challenge his/her lack of credentials. Likewise, suppose the Democrat front runners were Barak Hussein Osama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Past Presidents;
Bush 2 – Executive experience as twice elected Governor of Texas. Business Experience. Military experience flying Jets in the Guard.
Clinton – Executive experience as Governor of Arkansas.
Bush 1 – Executive experience in Business and as head of the CIA. Served in WW2.
Reagan – Executive experience as Governor of California
Carter – Governor of Georgia. Military experience.
JFK had a thin resume but at least he served in the Military.
Hillary – ?
Obama – ?

Yes, a dangerous joke.
On March 23rd, 2010 at 7:57 pm
None of that matters, it’s a question of who can win more electoral votes.

Not at all.

W proves that a cute resume is no evidence of intelligence, integrity, or qualifications.

Hillary’s resume? Her resume is not thin at all. First of all, She’s a U.S Senator. And in the past, Hillary advised the Children’s Defense Fund in Cambridge and joined the impeachment inquiry staff advising the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives during the Nixon corruption investigation and crimes. She joined the faculty of the University of Arkansas Law School in 1975 and the Rose Law Firm in 1976. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the board of the Legal Services Corporation. She chaired the Arkansas Educational Standards Committee, co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, and served on the boards of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Legal Services, and the Children’s Defense Fund. As the nation’s First Lady, Hillary continued to balance public service with private life. Her active role began in 1993 when the President asked her to chair the Task Force on National Health Care Reform. She continued to be a leading advocate for expanding health insurance coverage, ensuring children are properly immunized, and raising public awareness of health issues. She wrote a weekly newspaper column entitled “Talking It Over,” which focused on her experiences as First Lady and her observations of women, children, and families she has met around the world. Her 1996 book It Takes a Village and Other Lessons Children Teach Us was a best seller, and she received a Grammy Award for her recording of it.
Obama’s resume? He’s a U.S Senator. He worked as a community organizer in Chicago, Ill.; studied law at Harvard University, where he became the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review, and received J.D. in 1991; lecturer on constitutional law, University of Chicago; member, Illinois State senate 1997-2004; elected as a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in 2004 for term beginning January 3, 2005.
All this and the books that he has written.
I’d say that is great experience for such a young senator.
I’d say that is pretty experienced to me.
On April 2nd, 2010 at 5:58 pm
Obama has very little since he is a young idealist.
Clinton was a senator and a first lady, getting a different perspective of the job.
I wouldn’t call it a joke. Just thin
On April 4th, 2010 at 2:19 pm
no. you are the joke. Why do you feel so threatened by Hillary and Obama?
On April 5th, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Don’t forget John Edwards’ illustrious career shaking down physicians and channeling small children!
On April 8th, 2010 at 4:53 pm
You realize they are senators, right????
———————————————–
Hillary was raised in a middle-class family in the middle of America. From that classic suburban childhood in Park Ridge, Illinois, Hillary went on to become one of America’s foremost advocates for children and families; an attorney twice voted one of the most influential in America; a First Lady of Arkansas who helped transform the schools; a bestselling author; a First Lady for America who helped transform that role, becoming a champion for health care and families at home and a champion of women’s rights and human rights around the world.
Since her path-breaking election to the United States Senate, Hillary has been a steadfast advocate for middle-class families, working to help create jobs, expand children’s health care and protect Social Security from privatization. As the Senator representing New York after 9/11, Hillary has fought to strengthen our approach to homeland security and to improve our communications and intelligence operations. As the first New Yorker ever named to the Senate Armed Services Committee, Hillary has been a tough critic of the administration’s bungling of Iraq and a fierce advocate for proper equipment, health benefits, and treatment for military families.

they are Senators. that’s no joke. Hillary did live in the White House for 8 years. I think Bill slept on the couch though.
Because you asked not to make this question about Bush:
His business experiences were all failures. His military experience isn’t very impressive. But he sure was a hero with the flight suit on declaring Mission Accomplished, wasn’t he?
Obama is inexperienced at this level. I think he’ll make a good President in the next or following election. I hope Hillary doesn’t win, please God.
Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton-then what? Jeb is next- oh no!
On April 10th, 2010 at 8:15 pm
Uh, the answer is “no.”
On April 12th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
What RESUMES?
THEY HAVE NONE.
On April 12th, 2010 at 5:07 pm
Both are serving in the Senate.
It’s not a requirement to have any qualifications as President except for those written in the Constitution. Anything else is just political smoke and mirrors designed to prop up an incumbent against a challenger. Yawn.
At least 35 years old, a native citizen of the United States and resident in the US for the past 14 years. That is all the qualification you need.
Do Hillary and Obama meet or exceed these qualifications? Yes, they do. Move along, please.
On April 14th, 2010 at 12:44 pm
Well in Obama’s defense, I must say his resume would be a sure contender for the job of principal of a mid-sized elementary school…
But President of the United States? Bwahahahaahaha!
On April 15th, 2010 at 4:02 pm
Not that I agree at all with Ms. Clinton but in her defense, she was politically involved before meeting Bill, that was a big part of what they had in common upon meeting. She has an inside view unlike most of how the presidency actually works and definitely has relationships with the leadership of many countries also due to Bill Clinton’s presidency.
That being said, I hope that she never has the opportunity to become Commander in Chief.
Obama still has some serious dues to pay. To have him a heartbeat away from being the highest elected position in America is a scary thought especially with a liberal majority in Congress.. He does often buck the opinions of his constituency but then again, so does Rudy and I believe more Americans relate with Giuliani than all the other announced candidates.

Well, two of the potential top Republicans are a man whose only executive experience was as a mayor (Sorry, much as I love NYC, there’s a world of difference between running a city and a country, or even a state), and a man who has no executive experience, just legislative and acting. Business and military experience do not necessarily translate to government, especially the office of President (Look at Eisenhower. A great military leader, uninspiring as a president, with a debatable legacy). Although in Bush’s case, they did. He was a failure in business, and didn’t show up for his military duty, and now he’s a train wreck of a president.
On April 18th, 2010 at 9:03 pm
I agree with you! Our country is in a problem state and needs experience at the helm. I’m old enough to have lived thru WW2 and remember it (Gabriel Heater, Casserine pass. Big red one) OK, i’ll serve, but i’m a scrapper! beat death twice! write in Bob, American…thats me. bit of background? see RB47-H on google
On April 21st, 2010 at 7:47 pm
I have not seen a resume for either of them, but if they begin with “knock, knock” you can pretty much bet that what follows is a joke.
[Don't feel bad if that got past you. American humor is often very subtle and, consequently, difficult to recognize.]
On April 25th, 2010 at 4:38 am
Bush failed in every business he ever was in, and you want to use that as experience?
On April 26th, 2010 at 6:28 am
What’s funny is that you are buying into this. It doesn’t matter who you choose you are going to wind up with SWINE! The most powerful executive position known to man and he’s going to be a puppet to the industrialists who really run the show.
On April 27th, 2010 at 9:09 am
Liberals don’t respect business experience, actually they see being a head of a business as a negative. Also, liberals are emotinately based thinkers, so, a strong, solid foundation to you or me, is meangless to a liberal.
Another way you could look at it, if you built up a business on your own through hard work, brains, taking risks and commitment to your goal, it’s very, very unlikely you would be a liberal after you’ve been through the process. The pitfalls of frivolous lawsuits, ridiculous employee issues, taxation, govt shakedowns etc. would turn you into a conservative.

Hillary is an excellent fund raiser. She has co-sponsored (that means she didn’t originate anything, she just attached her name to someone else’s work, kind of like rollerskating down the street, holding on to the back bumper of the bus) some minor legislation. Her position several years ago as the Queen of Health Care, which was a disaster, has been deleted from her resume. She has also written a book of revisionist history and another one about communal living. She does not know how to govern or bake cookies. She spent most of her white house years agonizing over whether or not to send Chelsea to public schrool. Barak has spent the last two years perfecting his negro accent and learning how to knot a necktie. If he has any other accomplishments he is keeping them secret. They are the front runners on the leftist ticket, aptly demonstrating that the once great democrat party is in a shambles. Those two, plus Pelosi and Reid, have the intellectual heft of Jocelyn Elders and Janet Reno combined.
On May 5th, 2010 at 8:15 am
I think a lot of these folks don’t remember that the last President to come out of the Senate was JFK. You don’t learn executive leadership in the Senate.
Hillary only just began her second term in the Senate and I defy anyone to name one important piece of legislation that she shepherded through. I swear that every time her mouth moved, Schumer’s hand was plainly visible in her back, like some demented ventriloquist Obama is a newcomer. If Hillary learned enough to be President by being First lady, then I submit that Laura Bush would be a better choice because her experience is far more recent and timely.
Although I don’t agree with him a lot, out of the Democrats, the only one I’ve seen with executive experience is Richardson, and he’s a lightweight.

YUP!
Hillary – attorney (big deal), Senator (yawn), First lady (double yawn), failed health care plan that she tried to shove down our throats (got to add that one in), wrong side of amnesty debate (doesn’t listen to Americans)
Obama – rooky Senator (yawn), after voting AGAINST the Iraq war he now wants to invade Pakistan & Iran (HUH?), wrong side of amnesty debate (doesn’t listen to Americans), ????????
They sure are qualified, aren’t they (SARCASM!)
On May 9th, 2010 at 5:47 am
Well, you obviously don’t like who the Democrats have as front runners. Turn the page and look at the opposition.
Fred: One term senator and actor.
Rudy: Mayor of a large city.
Mitt: Was Gov of MA.
Make a case that any one of them has a better resume’ than H.Clinton.
On May 10th, 2010 at 8:19 pm
there is no possible way they will win so to say the answer is mute would be an understatement. as far as a resume if being the ex presidents wife is a resume than i guess that’s hers also didn’t she really run the country when her husband was doing his thing with Monica and all the other. not trying to be funny but i think its true. also oboma is an Indian and his resume is he is a minority so that’s all he needs to get the narrow minded liberals to say he will do a good job. if either on e get elected , i will move to a third world country and be free again.
very strong question
you get a star!!
