Yes, but they are extremely volatile. I say invest in a emerging markets ETF that is spread through the Pacific and SE Asia, not just the Philippines as a whole. Get one with Australia & New Zealand in there too!

Unless you believe the Philippines has “finished” developing and will now slowly decline until it vanishes (LOL!), then (long-term) of course it is a good idea to invest/encourage investment there.
